Messages: UI and functionality improvements for iOS, Android and web
Improvements include:
- Allow message without need to connect first
- Delete messages
- Edit messages
- Archive chats
- Leave and delete chats
- Name group chats
- Block members
- Mark chats as unread
- UI improvements
- Typing indicator (shows when someone is typing)
Service messages like "Username has left the chat."

Web: Messages UI improvements
The look and feel of Messages on web desktop and mobile has been updated, ahead of some planned functionality improvements. iOS and Android UI will also be updated soon.

Folders: Major functionality improvements
Improvements include:
- Console Folders redesign
- All types of folder items can now appear together in a single folder
- All folder view types can now be applied to any folder
- Folders and items can be moved to other folders
- Folder names can be hidden
- Folder content can be reordered by date or name
Folders and items can easily be moved to another position within the same folder

Livestreams: Multiple streamers
On a livestream, invite up to 4 members watching to share their video and audio with you. Members can request to share their video and audio by raising their hand.

Events list improvements

The events list has been simplified to make it easier to read. On iOS and Android, filters have been added to allow members to quickly see events that are happening in an upcoming month.
Search suggestion screen improvements

When opening the search screen, members now see Groups, upcoming events and hashtags before entering a search term.
New home screen functionality

Choose to add one or more of the following sections to the top of your home screen: Upcoming events, My groups, Recent posts.
Why we're excited about this feature: Increased visibility of upcoming events will likely lead to increased attendance. Addition of dynamic elements to folders as a home screen could lead to increased engagement and retention.
Localisation (translation) improvements

Work will be completed to improve the processes in place for managing and maintaining the languages that the Disciple platform supports.
Events RSVP notifications

Members now receive notifications on iOS and Android about events they have RSVPed to, including a reminder about the event start date and details about changes to the event.
Attach a livestream to an event
20 July, 2024
Add a livestream link to an event. This will enable:
- Members will be able to join the event livestream via the event page
- Members with "Can livestream" enabled will start the event livestream via the event page.
- The in-app banner than notifies members that the livestream is happening now will include the event image and title
- The push notification sent to notify members the livestream is happening now will include the event title
Console Events page improvements

Livestream banner updates

The in-app banner that lets members know a livestream is happening now has been improved. It's now more reliable, uses your branding colours and includes the name and thumbnail of the group the livestream is happening in.
Improved labelling for screen readers

Improvements to the labelling used for three areas of the app: Navigation, posting, commenting. This labelling is supported by all the available languages on Disciple.
Search for folders

Members are now able to search for folders that are marked as "searchable".
Prompt members to choose a username

It's now possible to not pre-fill member usernames with their email address on signup. This means every member will have to enter their name manually. When this is enabled, it's possible to change the field label text – allowing you to instruct them to use their "Username", "Name", "Full name" or whatever you think is most appropriate for your community.

Search results UI improvements on iOS and Android

The appearance of search results has improved on iOS and Android. The top 3 results from each category are shown first, allowing your members to quickly scan for what they're looking for. Pressing "see all" shows every result from that category.

Saving folders and posts

Your members can now save a folder or a post by pressing on the save icon. Their saved items on their profile. All about bookmarking .
